Food Tech

On Wednesday we all had Tech. My group now do Food Tech with Mrs Tuipolotu. We made chicken with rice. We each grabbed chicken on a plate and placed it in a pot of boiling water. We then put the chicken on the stove waiting for it to finish. Once it was we then put it on a tray and dipped it in soy sauce and put it in the oven. We then put rice on a plate and waited for the chicken to finish. Once it was, we then grabbed it out of the oven, and laid the chicken out on a plate.

Kahurangi Maori Legends And Myths

On Wednesday 1st of August a group of middle aged people performed in front of our school.

The group had two males and four females, firstly they started their performance by singing a Maori song with actions. A while later, they all introduced themselves one after the other. They first said "Kia ora!" as we responded back to them "Kia ora!" as loud as we can.

Once they finished introducing themselves, they carried on with their show. They told us all a myth about a beautiful creature and a hansom man that lived on land. they both were extremely in love with each other. The hansom man loved the sea creature so much he wanted to stay with her forever but she couldn't. The sea creature was able to walk on land but she a signal from the sea calling her to come back. They both saw each other one day and kept a promise for the sea creature to come back and sea the hansom man every afternoon.

He then finds out that if the sea creature eats cooked food it will stay on land forever, so he gets cooked food and try's to make the creature eat it while shes sleeping she then wakes up and notices the food then she feels betrayed.

Receiving A Certificate At Assembly

On Monday last week Leaaepeni and I both revived a certificate from our teacher Mrs Golder. My certificate was for being a trusted and reliable member of the class.

The songs that Room 9 choose for us to sing were: What Do I Know by Ed Sheeran and Teach The World To Sing.

Room 9 made up a really fun game using a milk box and the contestants were: Julianne, Lisa, Kate, Uinita and Jacob. What you had to do was grab the box with your mouth by leaning or squatting and your hands have to be behind your back to make it even challenging. Once you grab it with your mouth you have to rip the box to make it smaller. The afternoon was very astonishing.

Once they were ready there were to many Room 12 children than so two Room 12 people had to go with a Room 1 student. Tyra and I went with Zephania in the corner of the room. We read and asked him different questions until we had to leave.
